Nature Exchange #3

I am on  a roll, friends - 2 posts in one week!  :)

In spite of the time crunch here, I just had to share some photos from our recent Nature exchange with Silvia.  This is something we do once a year with Silvia and her family. I have shared previous Nature exchanges here and here.

My children and I have always thought that collecting and sending the Nature treasures to Silvia is the best part...

..until the box from Silvia arrives and we discover what she and her family have sent us....

Books! Lovely, living books!! Take a peek..

Not to mention sweet notes from her girls, a yummy Texas fruitcake, a volcanic rock from Italy, a fridge magnet from Malta, beautiful journals,

And these gorgeous tablecloths..

The children are devouring the books, and we are all devouring the fruitcake. Thanks again, Silvia! I am so thankful for our friendship!  :)

"As iron sharpens iron,
So a man sharpens the countenance of his friend." ~Proverbs 27:17

  1. Oh. How. Fun! Silvia sure knows how to send great packages! Personally, I LOVE the tablecloth! Enjoy! Have a blessed weekend my friend!

    1. I agree, Jane - the tablecloths are so lovely! I am treasuring them as I treasure my friendship with Silvia. And our friendship as well. Have a sensational Saturday! :)

  2. What a lovely tradition. Have you ever met each other in person??

    1. We have never met in person, Carol, but I feel as if we have. :)
      Thanks for the visit. :)

  3. Ages ago when my first was just a baby, I came across one of these and I was so excited about the idea. I signed up and said I didn't need return boxes, I just wanted to send out some nature goodies from where I lived! I sent several packages but never heard back from anyone. I hope they enjoyed them though. It would be a fun thing to do again, now that I have kids who would get a kick out of helping with the process. I'll have to keep that in mind.

    1. Hi Amber,
Let me know if you would like to do an exchange with our family. Winter is just around the corner, but a spring exchange would be fun! :)

Thanks so much for stopping by. I love to hear from my readers, and your thoughts are welcome. And I try my best to respond to each and every comment. :)
