When You Go Out With Your Children...

"When you go out with your children, lift your head up high,
put a smile on your face, and be proud to be a mother.
You have one of the most important careers in the nation.
God Himself is your employer and you are helping to determine the future of this nation.

Be a light in the midst of a society that does not embrace children. Do not be intimidated.
Show your love for your children as you speak sweetly to them and are patient with them. If the Lord has blessed you with a number of children, be proud to display your "blessings" from the Lord.
You reveal to the world what God is like....for He loves children.
Jesus did not reject children. He welcomed the children to come to Him...."

  1. What a beautiful piece from the devotional book. I love my two children to the moon and back and for eternity long!! Yes, I get that gushy when I tell them how much I love them.

... I've never thought of in terms like that, "God is our employer,' Yet, I know the truth of it. It's good to hear it in a very practical term though.

    Blessings!

  8. We are welcoming number six very soon, and we are excited. It is somewhhat intimidating sometimes, knowing these are God's children that he has put in my care, knowing that I myself am a child in some respects and need the ever-present guidance of my Father in rearing these little ones. But I am proud of them all. I am happy to go out with them and show the world they are in my care, and my care is the best for them, and I am proud of the work of the Lord through our family. Praises be to God for my children and what we show the world when they see our family. God's grace.

  10. Amen. Although we have a small quiver, we adore our two daughers just the same. I always wonder about those brawling mothers and grandmothers that we see (& hear) when we are out -- the ones that are loud and short- tempered with their children. I always wish I could scoop those children in my arms and show them what a loving home is all about.

    1. Hello Jane,
I see the same thing..mothers and grandmothers snarling and barking at their children. And I always wonder..if they're treating them like that in front of people out in public, how much worse must it be in the privacy of their homes? I feel so badly for those children!
Thanks for stopping by, dear friend.
      Hope you're having a lovely day. :)

  11. Thank you for sharing! This is beautiful. Even though I don't have any children of my own yet, I work with lots of little ones and children at church and I try to always be firm, but loving and let them know how much they mean to me. So many times children are treated and spoken to like they are a bother and an inconvenience--I don't ever want to make a child think that they are not precious in the sight of God and in mine.
    Thanks again for sharing!

  12. What a lovely post! It is so easy to feel "heavy" when we leave the home with both girls {yes we only have two but they have the energy of an entire basketball team}, but I am proud to be their Mom and I am proud to not depend on others to raise them. It is a blessing and I am working for the Lord, my husband, my daughters, and even my future grandchildren {some day way, way, WAY in the future}. Thank you for posting! I am your latest follower. :)

  13. I love this, and am focused to live this out when we go out. Many friends think I'm crazy that I actually enjoy taking the five children with me shopping every week for example...but I love "showing them off", their company, the smiles they bring to the faces we come into contact with. It blesses me and hopefully blesses others!
